Cleaning and maintenance tips from an old house manual
Small pieces of broken glass may be picked up with damp absorbent cotton. If the ignition refuses to unlock on a cold morning warm the key and retry. A little jeweler's rouge and a dry chamois will polish brass not too tarnished or rub with weak ammonia. Mildew stains not too cold may be removed by paste of soft soap and powdered chalk, kept moist and sunlit.
Cautionary Safety Note on Fuses and Curtains
Do not cut curtains before drawing a thread to guide hems. A blown fuse signals trouble and indicates short circuit or overload. Do not replace a blown fuse until the cause is found and corrected. Never use a higher ampere fuse to bypass a blown fuse as it defeats safety.
