Wheat Harvest Progress at Patoka and Vernon
Harvest nears end with yields mainly 40 to 55 bushels per acre across Patoka and Vernon as dry spells ease. Patoka Elevator extends hours to 11 30 nightly before rain, with two days needed to finish. Weather brought 2 to 3 inches since a month of little rain, boosting soil moisture and prompting some replanting and late bean planting possible in July. The article also notes rainfall patterns, local family visits, and individuals in the community as crops and events unfold.
