Directors and staff were given a bonus and a payroll savings plan bonds program announced.

J Edward Johnston son of Mrs Della Johnston of Patoka was rated 1st Class Petty Officer in the Navy Sea Bees on January 15 in Springfield NL where he enlisted. He trained at Camp Endicott Danversville Rhode Island before serving on foreign shores. He had worked in Illinois and Indiana on defense construction prior to enlistment.
