Patoka farmer proposes cooperative marketing overhaul
A Patoka farmer argues for a cooperative marketing bill that would empower farmer co-ops to set prices at primary and secondary markets, require clearance papers for transport, and reduce government price fixing and warehouse expansion. He cites existing price controls as a core problem and urges Congress to authorize self pricing with regulatory safeguards, while noting potential risks and political resistance. The piece also reviews historical notes on the Liberty Bell and the Sesquicentennial exposition.
