Serial Western Saga of Hampton and Silent Murphy
A detachment of the Eighteenth Infantry is trapped by Indians in a gorge. Hampton and Miss Gillis survive a siege while Gillis and most soldiers perish. They are later found by the Seventh Cavalry led by Lieut. Brant and brought to Glencaid. In town, Silent Murphy is revealed as Custer’s scout, and Brant confronts moral and romantic entanglements as Miss Phoebe Spencer arrives to teach. The Bachelor Miners prepare a grand reception for her as tensions rise.
