National 4-H Camp to Be Held in Washington DC

A national boys and girls 4-H club camp will take place in Washington DC in June 1928 under the U S Department of Agriculture. Each state may send two boys and two girls assisted by a state Extension Service member. Boulder Civil War Vet George Clark Dies at 92

George Clark 92, a Civil War veteran from Co. K 3rd Illinois Cavalry, died at a daughter’s home in Centralia after four years there with daughter Alta Walker formerly of Patoka now in Detroit. He spent most of his life in Boulder where he was born. Funeral services were conducted Friday evening at the Boulder M E Church by Rev. J M Smith.

Illinois paved roads reach six thousand two hundred twenty four miles

Illinois reports 6,224 miles of paved roads, up from 5,486 at the start of the year with a 761 mile addition. Wisconsin claims 2,282 miles plus 329 more, per Robert Kingery of the Chicago regional plan commission. By 1928 total paved miles in both states near 9,000.

The 1928 change introduces smaller one and two dollar notes with standardized designs and portraits.
