Varied Activities of the Cub Scout Program
The Parents Cub Scout pack meeting on Jan 30 led by Bill Blunt reviewed a Centralia round table. A Feb 20 banquet for Cubs and parents was discussed. Fire Dept speaker Sam Jolliff gave home fire safety tips. Two Cubs earned Gold Arrow and two earned Silver Arrow. New den mother named as Mrs. Jim McNicol with four co den mothers honored.

Davis and Thelma Jennings 25th Wedding Anniversary
Thelma and Davis Jennings celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, originally December 24, 1938, with a January 10, 1964 gathering at Ann and Harold Painter's home. Guests included John A. Jennings and numerous relatives, who joined in wedding theme décor, a buffet dinner, cake cutting, singing, games, and vow renewal. A silver plate gift marked the occasion.

All Day Meeting of Women's Society at Doolen Home
The Woman's Society of Christian Service gathered at Mrs. Ellis Doolen's home for an all day session led by president Mrs. Mary Ballance. Letta Hopkins reported 33 Christmas Tray Remembrances and 27 Christmas cards sent, a flower arrangement, and a $100 church fund donation. World Day of Prayer set for Feb 14 at 1 30 p.m. The day featured a pot luck meal a noon hymn Sweet Peace and prayer, readings and poems, gratitude notes and a recreation period, ending in warm fellowship.

Patoka High Plans Homecoming With Sandoval Visit
The Pa toka High School Student Council hosted by Mr Buck plans a Homecoming in the school cafeteria on Tuesday February 11 with Sandoval as the visiting team. A dance by the Sixteens of Salem follows the game. Admission 75 cents for singles and 1 dollar for couples. Coronation of the Homecoming Queen will occur during the evening. Alumni and guests are invited. School closes February 7 for a county teachers meeting and February 12 for Lincoln's Birthday.
