Poultry House Architecture Essentials for Winter Eggs

The article notes success in raising fowls hinges on housing as much as stock. It cites three essentials for a good house: dryness, ample sunshine, and ventilation without drafts. Any house achieving these three factors should serve well regardless of its form.

Care for Fowl Homes Emphasizes Dryness and Ventilation

The guide stresses a sunny sheltered site, dry house, and proper drainage to prevent dampness which lowers egg yield. Elevate foundations to avoid surface water, choose concrete or double board floors, and ensure good ventilation without drafts. Use muslin coverings on windows to reduce cold winds while allowing air flow.
