The Ladies Fandwork Club held a Christmas gathering at Mrs S M Spurgeon's home with all members except one present. Kay Jennings painted serving trays, gifts were exchanged, and prize winners included Gladys Jones, Christia Crawford, Nina Hawkins, and Eva Potts. January's meeting will be hosted by Eva Potts with entertainment.

American Legion Auxiliary Meeting at December Session
The American Legion Auxiliary met at the Legion Hall on December 5 with 12 members. President Bessie McWhirter presided as motions approved donations to child welfare, Christmas gifts to hospitalized veterans, parties at Danville and Marion Hospitals, and T B Christmas Seals. Seventy four stamped cards were sent to veterans hospitals. fruit and treats packed for three hospitalized veterans. Plans for a December 16 supper for Patoka Elevator employees. Christmas party set for December 11 with gift exchange, sandwiches, and cookies. Pinochle parties suspended until after New Year.
