FBI records show no enemy directed sabotage in the United States during World War II. From 1940 to 1945 investigators logged 19 299 sabotage reports, mostly due to mischief or fatigue, with 601 convictions and one death sentence tied to submarine saboteurs who landed on the Atlantic coast in 1944.
