Military camp named for Walter J. Hatzfield at Jefferson Barracks
This year's camp at C. M. T. C. Jefferson Barracks Missouri is named in honor of Walter J. Hatzfield a St. Louis youth who enlisted in 1917 at age nineteen and died July 10 1918 while guarding an ammunition dump between the trenches at Hillen...verest in Alsace. The 188th Infantry part of the 35th Division trained at Camp Doniphan before sailing for France. Hatzfield died after a German shell killed him during an evening raid preparation.

Death of Foster Township Resident Tuesday
Andrew Wesley Foster of Foster Township died last Tuesday after months of illness and an apparent stroke following a road accident near Patoka. Born March 27 1861 in Marion County he was 72 and had two marriages with children from each union. He joined the Lord and requested baptism prior to death. funeral held at Sandy Branch with Rev J M Smith and Rev Humphrey.
