M E Church Moves Sunday Service to Mound Chapel

Hi LITE CLASS MEETS AT SANDOVAL HOME

The Hi-Lite class of the Christian Church met at Mrs. Alice Hubbart's Sandoval home last Thursday evening. With no teacher present no definite program was followed. The secretary read the last meeting report and the candy sale total of 3.12 including donations. Mystery pals were revealed and new pals drawn. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Hubbard and Virginia Henry.

Christian Ladies Aid Entertained Birthday Event

The Ladies Aid of the Christian church was entertained Monday evening by Mrs. Christina Elifritz and Lula Hanson at Anna Pugh's home in honor of Bessie Perrine and Evelyn Cox. Guests played games and a mystery pals reveal, with several paying a nickel. Prizes went to Bessie Perrine, Nell Quayle, and Eva Potts. Homemade ice cream and angel food cake were served by Myrtle Tacke and Madalene Porter.

Post Office announces National Air Mail Week May 15 to 21 to mark twenty years of regular air mail service. Sew-No-More Sewing Club Meets in Vernon Notes

The Sew-No-More Sewing Club gathered April 19 at Mrs. Marcus Cox's Vernon home. Members Lucille Eagan Alta Logan Juanita McIntyre Evelyn Ballance Margaret Cox and Thelma Pugh attended. Plans for a May pot luck dinner were discussed and a three course luncheon followed. The next meeting will be at Mrs. James Ballance's home. Mr and Mrs Les Ballance with Mrs Eagan and Mrs Jim Ballance visited Vernon on Thursday.
