Patoka friends of Mrs Tom Stephens feared for her safety Friday when her car overturned near Effingham while returning from a visit to Casey. Mrs Stephens and Helen Herrin were not seriously hurt though Mrs Stephens suffered bad bruises after the Buick rolled twice and landed below a ten foot embankment. The car sustained extensive damage requiring a new top fenders and minor repairs.

Thomas Marion Boring born September 19 1874 died April 1 1986 age 61 years 6 months 18 days. He married Fannie Elizabeth Gray February 22 1900. He joined the M E Church South at Cabbage Chapel in 1910 and told his wife he was ready to go. He is survived by his wife one sister Mrs Minnie Boring and several relatives and friends.

Mrs. Harry F. Johnson died at her Salem home after a brief pneumonia attack at 4 30 pm Monday. The family moved to Salem seven years ago from Flora. Her husband, Marion County attorney, and the Johnsons were well known in Patoka and vicinity. Survived by husband two sons aged three and five a father and one sister. Funeral held Wednesday at the Salem Christian Church with many friends in attendance including J. W Alexander Mr and Mrs James Wasem Wesley Grupp and Taylor Nall of Patoka.
