Ruel Hall a former coach and teacher here has been appointed as County Superintendent of Schools in Kankakee County due to the death of the former Superintendent. Walter Renner of DeKalb was in Patoka as a dinner guest of Dr and Mrs Murfin. Local residents and visitors from Mt Vernon Decatur Alton Vandalia and Centrailia visited Patoka or nearby communities during the period.
