Colorado Boulevard between Club Road and Melrose Avenue in Pasadena will reopen to traffic Wednesday morning as part of the Ventura Colorado Freeway project. Officials say the reopening will ease traffic for motorists driving to Los Angeles, restoring access to the Glynh Road bridge and Melrose Avenue.
An all day Pasadena meeting hosted by the Teague of Wormer Vulers will discuss Judicial Qualifications and the Selection of Judges with aft er-luncheon speakers Seth Hufstedler and Kevin O'Connell at the Women's City Club. Hufstedler argues for Merit Plan selection. O'Connell argues against it.
Caltech physicist Dr. David L. Goodstein described helium’s strange behavior at minus 155.8 degrees Fahrenheit, noting it resists solidification and becomes a superfluid. He explained helium’s zero viscosity allows it to flow through tiny openings, transfer heat rapidly, and even climb walls, while remaining a delicate, powerful quantum state.
The Pasadena Tuberculosis Association calls for volunteers to assist physicians in tuberculin testing all eighth graders in the area. Testing runs 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays for four weeks. Nurses with training should call 293-4148 for more information.

The California League of Senior Citizens meets Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Vasadena YWCA. A slide program on Oregon Country is shown by Jim Buckhouse Wednesday at 3:40 p.m. in the Arcadia Public Library. A First United Methodist Church Pasadena luncheon features Miss Avelle McKee soprano with Matilda Smith Wednesday. Miss McKee, a student, won Pasadena Historical Society’s Why I Am an American contest. Senior citizens invited.
Pasadena City College plans a student aid center funded by a $77,800 SB 164 grant to assist enrollment, advising, tutoring, financial aid, and transfer pathways. Administrative Dean Delmas Bugelli announced the program, with counselors, recruiters, tutors, and aides aimed at helping students, including those facing language, social, or economic barriers.
County supervisors weigh an anti rock festival ordinance to curb outdoor concerts by requiring permits for events attended by 500 or more. Critics from the delinquency and crime commission plan to seek a delay as the measure faces opposition. San Gabriel voters decide today on extending a tax override to maintain a $2.08 per $100 rate for four more years through June 1914. Superintendent Willa Berek says renewal keeps the education program at current level without adding costs and avoids raising the $1.92 baseline this year.
