Haukaas Leads Score Chase in Close Race Day Review
Gordie Haukaas scored 66 points to lift his season total to 410 as Barry Todd trails with 284 points. Fireball sponsored by Sylmak Trucking shows strong form with time trials at 42.9 seconds, and multiple heat wins by Bill Robinson, Todd, and Carnegie highlight a tight A class. In B class Des Booker and Howard Hanson clinched top points with 42 and Ed Patenaude edging at 45.6 in trials. The program featured tough competition, notable laps, and a dramatic 8th race wheel loss before a competitive feature race victory by Vic Wojeichowsky in The Widow Maker.
