Band and Churchill seek housing land deal and referendum
At a council meeting Chief Lathlin and Councillor Joe Ross discussed plans to sell or lease 450 serviced Indian Band lots to Churchill Forest Industries for a pulp mill. A September 24 referendum would approve ceding 235 acres east of the highway for ministerial talks with Churchill, with a corporation potentially forming later to manage the land and development.
