Tour Train Stoppage By Indian Ancestry Passengers Episode
J F Gray, secretary of the Hudson Bay Route Association, described an episode that halted the August 21 train to Churchill at its Thompson stop for two hours. About 25 young men of Indian ancestry forced their way aboard as the train was about to depart, then lay beneath coaches when thrown off. He said the group, drunk and with little to do, acted for fun, not due to natives versus whites. The regular Churchill-bound train carried four end cars with Hudson Bay Route tourists aboard. They attempted to board the cars.
