Square Dance Notebook reports rust was shed and dancers enjoyed a session last Saturday. Ross called for a workout, with two more Saturdays to recruit new members at the upper half of Kelsey School at 8:00 PM. Contact Ruby Stanger or Gerry Stanger or Harkness family for details.
Judy McCammon spoke at the noon Rotary luncheon about her exchange student trip to Glace Bay Nova Scotia and hopes for continued tours after the Centennial year. The club’s monthly attendance averaged 87.7 percent, ranking sixth of thirty five in the area while The Pas Rotary plans to sponsor the Canoe Pageant stop next June with a committee to develop plans.
The Centennial Series offers annual interest rates of 5 percent for four years, 534 percent for three years, 54 percent for one year, and 6 percent for the final five years, totaling 7.25 percent per 100 bond. It claims guaranteed total interest of $100 per $100 bond, with ease of purchase in cash or installments and redemption at full face value plus earned interest.
The Club will sponsor a high school student to attend the Model United Nations Assembly in Winnipeg next spring.
Frontier Collegiate in Portage la Prairie hosted the first in a series of boxing bouts drawing a good crowd. Nine three rounders featured Willard Muswagen versus Tony Bittern and Russell Tobacco against Denis Cameron in finals. Supervisors included Tom Barrow, a former boxer. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Crusen left Viking Lodge for New York after six months there.
