Manitoba Mineral Boom Sets New Records in 1962
Manitoba expects mineral production to exceed 1961 by at least 25 percent, reaching about 125 million dollars driven by Inco’s Thompson complex and Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting. The year saw first potash land leases, oil exploration on Hudson Bay shoreline, and a three year aero magnetic survey covering 96 000 square miles to map potential resources.
