Legion Donates 10000 For Pool Project In The Pas
Last Thursday after the Remembrance Day Service Mayor Kennedy accepted a cheque from Legion officials led by Comrade Alf Lundy for 10000, the first half of a 20000 pledge. The presentation included Harold Grun dy pool chairman Ed Joh anson Bob Baker and Comrade Charlie Ills ley. Lundy noted the remaining 10000 would follow on request from the Kelsey Recreation Commission. Kennedy thanked the Legion for its support of sports and recreation in The Pas.

Flin Flon Man Cleared Of Stolen Chair Charge
Francis Farmery was cleared in Magisterate Court as the crown withdrew the possession of stolen goods charge mid trial. A green chair belonging to The Pas Foundation and Excavation was linked to the case after missing from the CFI site last June. A security guard testified the chair later returned to the office before being used as court evidence. The chair's fate after the second court appearance remains unclear.

Citizens Appeal For Safer Sidewalks On Cathedral Ave

Sales pass $6 million at The Pas Forestry Complex
Industry and Commerce Minister Len Evans reports The Pas Forestry Complex surpassed $6 million in pulp paper and lumber sales by October 31. He notes strong market acceptance, lean inventories, and that pulp and paper production topped 35,000 tons with over 33,000 tons sold, while lumber output and sales exceeded 20 million board feet. Prices eased about $15 per thousand board feet from summer levels but remain fair for the season.

Police Seek Clues Into Girl's Death
The body of Betty Osborne a 19 year old of The Pas Manitoba was found by a local youth while rabbit hunting near Clear Water Lake Airport northeast of The Pas.
