Minor Hockey Registration in The Pas This Saturday

The Pas Minor Hockey League hosts on Saturday November 20 at the Arena. Registration opens noon with times for each group Peewee Tom Thumb 9:30 to 10:30 Bantam Midget 10:30 to 11:30 Juvenile 11:30 to 12:00. Fee is 1.00 per player with 0.50 split to the league and 0.50 to the arena. Bring payment and arrive on time for your group.

Power rate cut due April first at The Pas reports

The Pas will see a half cent cut on the second 100 KW block starting April 1 1944 reducing the second block rate from 2 1/2 to 2 cents per 100 KW and saving up to 50 cents monthly for full 100 KW users. Mayor Trager calls the move disappointing while hydro line progress to The Pas continues toward a 1968 completion and possible ties to Grand Rapids and Thompson.

Centennial Youth Dance Fundraiser in The Pas

The Pas Community Youth Group hosts a fund raising dance at Westminster United Church basement on Friday November 19 from 9 30 p m to 1 00 a m. Admission is 75 cents per person. Manitoba Telephone System asks the Public Utilities Board to revise its tariff to remove Northern Manitoba special long distance rates and equalize with southern rates. The filing on November 12 seeks uniform provincial long distance prices, with projected annual savings around 157000 dollars for callers to and from the north.
