The Inter-Universities North 1972 78 program is in full swing with plans under way for the 1973 74 program despite a late start this year.
Enrollment stands at about 260 students with 295 course enrollments, up slightly from last year. Two courses were cut for low uptake while two new offerings Cross Cultural Education and School Counselling were added reflecting local support. A year ahead survey is underway to decide next year’s courses and improve planning.
Six Manitoba communities will pilot university credit courses through Brandon University and the Manitoba Department of Colleges and Universities Affairs. First year biology and labor courses will be offered in Thompson Flin Flon The Pas Leaf Rapids Gillam and Churchill with classes held in local halls schools or homes. The Labor course will run in Thompson and Flin Flon while the biology course will be offered in Churchill. Eleven residents have been hired for the program.
