The Fishermen's Co-operative Limited at The Pas takes over operations of The Pas Agency and Booth Fisheries. They will set up offices and storage at Booth Fisheries site on the Byng and LaRose corner. Additional construction is underway and Keystone Buildings on Railway Avenue may be sold. A Freshwater Fisheries study is under way and a fish processing packaging and freezing plant could begin next summer.

Thompson to Host Northern Manitoba Senior Men Basketball Tourney
A planned Northern Manitoba Senior Men's Basketball Tournament set for December 13 and 14 in Thompson aims to become an annual event. Teams from The Pas Flin Flon Snow Lake and Gillam are expected to participate with a trophy and prizes based on entries. The opening game is tentatively at 1 p.m. Saturday with billets for Saturday night and a $10 team entrance fee due by November 28.

The M.S.S. A.A. Zone 11 Volleyball Tournament is set for The Pas on Saturday November 15 with games in Mary Duncan Margaret Barbour and Vocational Centre gyms. Teams from Thompson Churchill Lynn Lake Gillam Flin Flon Cranberry Portage and The Pas seek billets for visiting players. Winners advance to provincial playoffs in Gimli or Miami.
