Town of The Pas Budget Shows Surplus and Paving Focus
The May budget reports a 1976 end with a surplus enabling partial DREE overrun coverage and prepayment of storm sewer work. A 12.8 mill special blacktop levy is $60,000 below last year, with paving favored over other uses, while the library and recreation budgets rise and the major industry Manitoba Forestry Resources Ltd remains the top taxpayer. Tax notices are expected mid-June for residents and businesses.
