At a board meeting Ken Perry presented Public Schools Finance Board letters detailing a grant in lieu of taxes for the Department of Northern Affairs lease at Otineka Mall. Based on 1975 assessments the division valued tax loss at 6120 dollars for 12000 square feet leased May 16 1976 to March 15 1981. Perry noted assurances of reimbursement but warned the Band Council plans to pursue school taxes from lessees on leased land.
