Flood years and rivers in the North Saskatchewan region debated
The narrator recalls 1898 to 1900 floods along the Saskatchewan and Churchill rivers. He cites low river rocks near a sawmill in 1898, extreme highs in September 1899, and major flooding spreading from Frog Portage through Manawan to Pelican Lake and then into the Saskatchewan. Local old timers note exceptionally high waters in 1900 and a dry interval from 1916 to 1948.
