Flood warning for Carrot River to hit The Pas May first week
Water Resources warns spring floods on the Carrot River in Saskatchewan with crest expected at The Pas during the first week of May. Local resource staff predict the river will surpass the dyke by at least two feet, inundating lands between the dyke and the river and the Saskeram area. Agricultural officials urge farmers to move cattle and valuable belongings to the protected side of the dyke by today to avoid loss as conditions resemble the 19 Tac Nickel year with livestock at risk on the north bank.

Labour Agreement Ratified by Lumber Workers in The Pas
Workers at the Lumber Division of The Pas Forestry Complex in Northern Manitoba voted on April 21 to ratify the new Labour Agreement between River Sawmills and the International Woodworkers of America Local 1-324.
