Sub Division Plan Gets Council Approval In The Pas
The Pas Town Council endorsed in principle a subdivision east of Cathedral Avenue and north of Campbell Street Dufferin Avenue to form about 30 serviced lots for single dwellings. If planning commission agrees, lots may be sold this summer or fall with storm sewers connected to Cathedral. Council will notify Wolf Willow estates owner Mr McMillan of the plan and consider expanding the area if demand grows.

Boy Struck By Truck On Hogan Avenue
A six year old boy narrowly escaped serious injury when struck by a truck on Hogan Avenue near 7th Street. Emile Jaeger of The Pas drove the truck and hit Dean McMillan as he walked home from school at 4:00 p.m. Police say the youth darted into the road but stopped and the driver swerved to miss him. The boy was taken to St. Anthony’s with a cut jaw but released.

Local girl wins bronze in Brandon long jump
Kay Dunlop, 14, claimed bronze with a 14 feet 1.5 inch jump at the Brandon Optimist Assiniboine relays held March 2 and 3. The Morris girl won first and a Saskatoon competitor second. Dunlop, normally a sprinter, entered long jump after disqualification in sprinting and plans more Northern meets and Winnipeg events this term.
