The Pas opens three new school additions as Hon Jack Carroll notes a province wide push for better education. He praises The School Board for long range planning now fulfilled in time.

Mr. Carroll urged The Pas residents to honor their duty by supporting new school facilities. He noted Manitoba education was rising with 50 000 high school students last year, up from 30 000 six years earlier, justifying 75 percent government cost sharing for new high schools.
The Sanatorium Board of Manitoba announces a TB case finding survey in The Pas and district from April 6 to 17. Free tuberculin skin tests will be offered to all residents, including those who have not been tested before or those with prior negative results. Positive cases will receive a chest x ray.

Nipawin Huskies defeated the Nipawin Hawks 11-5 Saturday and 9-5 Sunday to win the best of five final series three games to one. The Hawks took game one 9-6 at The Pas, then dropped the last three as Nipawin piled up seven third period goals in Saturday night action.
The Pas Herald reports a new shipment of the book Dew Upon The Grass by Billie Lamb Allan. The Lamb Family of The Pas and Moose Lake are featured. Copies cost $3.50 and are now on sale after the initial run sold out.
The Pas Rotary Club hosted a three way luncheon with speakers from Manitoba Agriculture and Industry and Commerce outlining steps to create a northern market for locally grown vegetables. Sid Fancy of Industry and Commerce urged producers to supply consistent high quality products and compete with southern imports while planning a dedicated high quality crop and regional branding.
The Pas Town Council unanimously adopts a resolution praising RCMP for handling the Trappers' Festival. It directs informing the Attorney General of concern over publicity about a Winnipeg Tribune article dated March 3 1964 alleging a probe into wholesale jailings of Indians during the event, with Winnipeg Free Press noting a similar report.
The town plans to assume water delivery night soil and garbage services from April 1, ending subsidies funded by the mill rate. Water subsidy exceeds 8000 annually and night soil about 3000, with garbage costs removed from mill rate. Council finalized details Monday after discussion previously showed deadlock on water funding.
Ottawa House tabled estimates show $600,000 allocated for repairs to The Pas Airport with tenders due April 21 and construction about a month later. The totals also include $900,000 for Thompson Airport with extensive runway paving planned and work scheduled.
