Vaughn Karpan and Bruce Constant cut the ribbon to officially open the Winton Pool after a prior delay due to a faulty chlorine pump. The ceremony drew about 300 attendees, including youth activists and dignitaries, with a banquet featuring remarks from Minister Ben Hanuschak. Community pool fund reaches 611 dollars in drive
Valleyview Trailer Court residents and management presented a 611 dollar cheque to Mayor Kennedy for the Winton Pool. Lorna Marshall gave the cheque while Paul Marshall stood nearby. Sawula Wins By-Election For Town Council
Ed Sawula will fill the Town Council vacancy left by Johnny Sokulski after winning a by-election held February 21. He defeated Ed Eggerer by 29 votes in a low turnout race with 349 ballots cast of 5215 possible voters. Sokulski was re elected for a three year term ending October 1975. Sawula will serve the remainder.
