Pony League Opens With Slugfest As Braves Fall To Legion
Pony League action over the past week featured a high scoring opener. Legion defeated the Braves 20 to 15 as G Richards earned the win and Wayne Young the loss amid wild pitching and numerous errors. The Legion and Kinsmen then played a tight 18 to 17 battle with Clark earning the win and Richards taking the loss. A later 18 to 11 victory by the Kinsmen over Cranberry Portage was noted with Richards again credited for the win. Standings after one week show Kinsmen 2–0, Legion 2–0, Braves 1–1, Cranberry 0–1.

The Teeps and Flin Flon Canadians faced rain at Exhibition Park last Sunday delaying the first game with Ricky Frank pitching. A possible July 4 makeup is noted as Polar League teams have a weekend off, with fans offered refunds at Art Johnson's Men’s Wear and a donation option.

Three Teams Tied for First in Ladies Fastball League
Last week action left three teams in a deadlock for first place in the Ladies Fastball League. The Trotters beat the Friendship Centre and the Diamonds beat Reserve, both securing two wins each against the bottom club. All three top teams have split with each other and swept the last place Reserve. The Friendship Centre may be facing trouble with their ace pitcher possibly leaving the team.

Legion Dominate Week With Three Wins In Little League
Legion swept three games last week in the Little League, routing the Braves 17 to 5, edging Knights of Columbus 3 to 2, and defeating the Elks 20 to 8. Timmy Martin earned two wins for the Legion, while Gordon Yarne and D Carnegie took losses for the Braves and Elks. Legion leads standings at 20 wins to 4 for K of C, 8 for Elks.
