The Kinette Club will donate 50.00 to a student attending the Music Camp at Peace Gardens in July. A potluck supper followed the business meeting as the club thanks residents for supporting their fund drives.
The Opasquia 4 H Club held a June 23, 1968 meeting at Mr Affleman's home. Marybelle Bruderer chaired in the president's absence. Terry and Bonnie Allen were chosen for camp this year. A display on Industry North of the 58rd Parallel was planned. Transportation to Swan River was decided to be by car. Five demonstration teams were noted, including two boys. Valerie Scott adjourned, lunch served by Mrs Affleman. Next meeting July 14 at Carrot Valley Hall.
The Ime Ladies Auxiliary supper in the United Church basement drew a large crowd with guest speaker Ed Johanson and Arch Deacon and Mrs Roberts present. Deputy District Commander Comrade Charles Illsley helped run the evening as long term members Bertha Stevenson and Margaret Lovell received life memberships. A near forty member Legion Hall meeting followed with kitchen remodeling underway and three new life members named Davie Rice Fred Bullock and Steve Travers. Remember the Kiddies Party at the Park. Bring them along.
The Pas Toastmasters ended the year with a dinner at the La Verandrye Motel attended by wives. President Odie Moran gave remarks on the year’s activities before introducing Toastmaster Owen.
