Manitoba high school students selected for Centennial exchange
Closing Exercises at The Pas Collegiate announced Sandra Hayes a Grade 11 student chosen as one of 120 Manitoba youths to represent the province in a pilot Centennial student exchange with Ontario Quebec New Brunswick and Newfoundland this July and August. Hayes daughter of Mr and Mrs Bert Hayes also a Gold Card Girl Guide. The announcement was made by Mr Bryant Hasker TPCL principal who received a outdoor Bar-B-Q from students as he departs The Pas for Winnipeg to teach.

Ron Rice Heads For Scotland Scout Jamborette
Ron Rice is among eight Canadian Boy Scouts chosen for a July Jamborette in Scotland at Blake Athol Perthshire on the Duke of Arthol estate. The 10 day event opens July 21 with seven days hosting by Scottish Scouts and a two day Edinburgh visit. Ron leaves Montreal July 20 and later visits London with family before returning to Canada.
