Town Will Lease Paddy Wagon In The Pas
The Town of The Pas plans to lease, not buy, a RCMP paddy wagon through the police agreement. Councillor Audrey Batchelor led the move citing a per mile rate of 9 cents after 3000 miles, gas and repairs included. A June 16 decision deadline was set to place the order for the 1972 fiscal year. The Pas hosts a two day Rodeo and Beef Barbecue at the Exhibition Grounds on August 1 and 2. Completed swimming pool gets the green light
The Past indoor swimming pool project moves to phase two after a June 29 council meeting authorized the Mayor and Secretary Treasure to sign with Graham Construction. DREE Trailer Causes Trouble In The Pas
Councillor Bert Hayes told Mayor Harry Trager at last week’s council meeting that an office trailer on Fischer Avenue, owned by DREE, an agency of the Federal Government, has caused problems. The trailer was placed on the mayor’s property over a year ago as a temporary measure. DREE had proposed Bracken Dam site but planning rejected it, leading to further inquiries about Uptown vacant lots and pressure to permit the trailer’s location.
