The Pas Chamber of Commerce thanks participants in the lot decorating contest and announces prize recipients. First prize of 25 dollars goes to Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Goldstrand at 937 Tremandan Avenue. Second prize 15 dollars to Mrs. Pia Dickie at 762 Constant Avenue. Third prize 10 dollars to Barbara Constant at 106 Resolution Drive. The Pas Credit Union wins the commercial plaque.
Williams expects four to five hundred visitors from southern Manitoba for the finish of the race as part of a push to promote The Pas and the north. Two bands will perform and a simultaneous dance and smorgasbord will run at the Legion Hall to handle overflow from Guy Hall. A Trappers Beer Festival is planned for Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Banquet and dance tickets will go on sale soon at about $8 each.
