Thirteen contestants from The Pas region seek the Miss Fur Queen title at the 29th Northern Manitoba Trappers Festival. Gwen 17 from The Pas and MBCS Collegiate plans to study physiotherapy or education at the University of Manitoba.
The Manitoba Department of Tourism and Recreation seeks a sewage treatment plant at Hugo Bay Clearwater Lake prompting protests from residents campers and non residents. The Clean Environment Commission will hold hearings in late spring with some sessions in the evenings to hear public views.
RCMP in Town detachment ask for help after 44 year old James Bloomfield of Big Eddy was found dead in the vacant lot behind the former Trager Building on Fischer Avenue December 23. He died at hospital at 9 05 PM and officers appeal witnesses to come forward.
Ben Hanuschak announces Lois M. Britton of Winnipeg as Keewatin Pas principal effective January 1976. She succeeds David Poole, comes with nine years teaching experience and ten years guiding home management programs in the Northwest Territories government.
A crafts club is organized in The Pas inviting all interested in crafts to attend the first meeting at 7:30 p.m. January 8 in Room 174 at Keewatin Community College. Bring in current projects. possible crafts include macrame needlepoint knitting crochet crewel embroidery beadwork applique weaving spinning. The Pas and Consol district planning bodies dissolve under the provinces new Planning Act that became law January 1. It allows for regional boards with elected representatives from The Pas Town Council and Consol L.G.D. Both bodies favor forming a regional board, though minister action may be possible if needed.
