The club reports blustery winds and cold conditions during Festival week with thaw in progress. Members plan to hold meetings at Clearwater Lake and discuss equipment for a younger group, plus an Old Timers Hockey Game against the Elks. The general meeting is Thursday February 15 to plan beers and activities.
Town Council in The Pas gave second and third readings to a pair of by-laws regulating lodging houses. Town Engineer Adam Sus was asked to explore activating colored lights at the Welcome Arch near the CNR station for the Trappers Festival. Budget notes show only part of the 1961 dues collected and staff remittance forms for premises until the city planning committee saw new appointments including Ditty, Fee, and Hiatt.
The Figure Skating Club requested additional ice time at the arena to rehearse and prepare for the annual Ice Carnival. The move aims to ensure adequate practice slots and smooth show preparation for the event.
The Pas Horticultural Society will hold its annual colored slide contest on Tuesday March 6 at 8 p.m. in Guy Hall Club Rooms. Classes include wild flowers uncut natural cultivated flower sets cut flower arrangements including baskets bouquets and corsages.
Readers are invited to submit fruit and vegetable themed and natural landscape slides taken within 60 miles of The Pas. Slides may be left with Mr Reg Williams at 50 Edwards Ave.
On Wednesday February 14 grades to VI held Valentine Parties. We trust everyone had a good time and enjoyed the celebration together.
Reports cards will be issued Friday February 16 and Visitors Day is Monday February 19. The February 5 Student Council meeting occurred. Jackets priced at $14.05 are being circulated. Advertising for the Aurora is in, and editor Marguerite Zawot nok says the yearbook will span about thirty pages of reports pictures ads and miscellany between hard covers.
The Pas Herald reports Valerie Sokoloski led girls with a 161 average and tied for high single with 215. Albert Lagimod iere led boys with 149 average. Danrel Hagon and Peter Nickels tied 215 for high boys single. Nickeli’s team won the championship. town pursues $10 trailer license fees. 1961 accounts turned to collector G Whitaker.
