Balone fights charge over careless driving verdict
In a Manitoba court, Norman Watkins argued Balone was not the driver of a car involved in a carelessness case. Balone testified he was at home around 1:00 a.m. and the car was present at 9:00 a.m., with no one using it. Magistrate Martin found Balone guilty of careless driving, fined $150 and $4 costs, and suspended his license for 150 days, with a recommendation not to suspend. Other cases followed, including Daniel Rowe's theft possession conviction and Shirley Beardy's license reprimand.
