Sergeant Henderson named head of The Pas RCMP detachment
Sgt. Larry Henderson a 20 year RCMP veteran was appointed head of The Pas Town Detachment succeeding Staff Sgt Geoff Davies promoted to Inspector and moved to Vancouver. A native of Pelly Saskatchewan he has served in Swan River Minnedosa Roblin Ethlebert and Gimli before most recently transferring here. He notes growth since his 1960 63 posting and plans to stay active in local curling hockey and golf. He and wife and their six year old daughter moved to The Pas in August expressing eagerness for the stay.

Joe Delveaux, long-time municipal worker since 1932, becomes Acting Resident Administrator for the Local Government District of Consol after Charles Alexander resigns in July. Delveaux and his wife live in St. Rose Du Lac where he served 40 years. she has 49 years in municipal work. He retired in 1972 but continues public service across districts and will remain until a permanent appointee is named, likely for at least two months.

Browns celebrate 50th wedding anniversary in Norlite Hall
Mr and Mrs J C Brown marked fifty years of marriage with a surprise party and family reunion in Norlite Hall on July 26 1975. The couple wed in Wilkie Saskatchewan November 11 1925 and have lived in The Pas since 1928. Attendees included five children and numerous relatives and friends from Winnipeg Vancouver Beausjour Windsor and Dauphin.

Streets plan bid boost with highway funds for 1976 77
Streets will ask the Minister of Highways to reserve $100 000 into the 1976 77 government year. The aim is to secure more funds and enlarge next year s project to attract contractors to bid rather than use invitational awards used this year.
Sidewalk width chosen for new projects in city
The council favours a four foot sidewalk over a six foot one, saving 95 cents per foot. At 500 feet per block the cost difference is substantial. A four foot sidewalk was approved on Lathlin Avenue past Smith's Grocery, while construction on the west side of LaRose was postponed by unanimous vote.
