Court News Constant Pays Fine And Probation
William Ralph Const ant of The Pas pleaded guilty in private’s Court on March 10 to possession of stolen property. He was fined 150 dollars and placed on one year’s probation in Magistrate Court last Wednesday. The case was delayed for a pre sentence report after initial remands to March 17 and then to March List. Const ant was arrested July 23, 1970 with two rings in his possession. McDonald’s Tobacco Store had been broken into the same day.

The Pas Complex Meets Federal Grant Conditions
The Pas forestry complex will satisfy federal requirements to extend its area development incentive grants deadline. Industry Minister Len Evans says the pulp and power mill construction nears the fishing stage and all production targets should be met soon. Since January 1 about 3,300 tons of unbleached kraft pulp have been produced, with 2,700 tons sold this year and 1,800 tons sold last month. Evans notes two records by the A sawmill, which produced 2,700,000.

Appeal Filed Over Judge's Ruling in Juvenile Murder Case
D Arcy Bancroft and firm Orch ard Bancroft Whidden and Mayer will seek authorization to appeal Judge Bill Martin's decision to raise a 15 year old male to adult court on a non capital murder charge. Appeal Filed Against Town For Welfare Aid Denial
Mrs Rose Richards of The Pas has appealed to the Welfare Advisory Committee claiming the Town failed to grant assistance. The committee chaired by Mrs Una Dexter met the town welfare officer acting Steve Hrabachuk with Councillor Audrey Batchelor and Norman Watkins of Orchard Bancroft Whidden and Mayer, town solicitors, along with Mrs Richards and D'Arcy Bancroft, a senior member.
