The West ward invites members to attend the opening social at Ree-Teabon Hall next Tuesday evening. A varied program will precede dancing for the remainder of the night. An annual mutual fee of 25 cents for ladies and 35 cents for gentlemen is asked.

WPA Tree Planting Project Completed

The WPA tree planting drive finished this week, replacing hundreds of aging street trees with over two thousand hardwood saplings. Irrigation ditches were rebuilt, culverts added, and property line adjustments made to widen paths and protect ditch banks for future planting.

Morris Rowley Called to Mission Field

Morris Rowley of this community has received a call to serve as a missionary for the L D S Church. He will report to the mission home in Salt Lake City on Monday after completing preparations and will then depart for the field. He is the eldest son of Mr and Mrs George Rowley, a graduate of the local high school and Branch Agricultural College at Cedar City, active in dramatic arts and public speaking.

Seminary To Open Next Monday Morning

Parowan high school announces the seminary opens next Monday with a renewed program. Instructor Myers will lead a weeklong convention at Aspen Grove focusing on Bible teachings and youth guidance. The seminary plans include a Salt Lake City conference trip and temple excursion to St George for participants. All high school students from 9th to 12th grade are invited to register.

Pendleton Family Leaves Today For Ames Iowa

Mr and Mrs Jate Pendleton with daughters Anna and Claudia and sons Cyril and Freeman depart for Ames Iowa to pursue study and work. Pendleton will join Iowa State College for Marine Mechanics and Industrial Arts studies while attending Parowan High School. family plans include winter college entries for daughters and return next spring. Judge Hoyt to Speak in East Ward Sunday

Funeral Services Held For Respected Resident

Funeral services for Thomas Davenport Adams were held Friday afternoon at his Parowan home with East Ward Bishopric officiating. The service featured choir and solo numbers, a graveside dedication by Walter Mitchell, and tributes from local leaders. Davenport Adams, born November 15, 1870, longtime Parowan resident, served as mayor and in multiple public roles. survived by his widow Luella R. Adams and numerous sons, daughters, grandchildren, and siblings.

Burton entertains Adams Family guests at city home
