Orton Family Reunion At Beaver

A William O. Orton family reunion was held last Sunday at Beaver in the American Legion Hall with about 30 members present. Officers for the coming year included Peter La Fevre Panguitch president Dennis Linford Panguitch 1st vice president Reed Orton Mr Pleasent 2nd vice president Hilda Chidister Panguitch secretary Mrs Jean La Fevre Panguitch historian and Celesta Talbot Panguitch genealogist. Sanford Topham Lands Major Role at CSU Play

Sanford Topham son of Mr and Mrs Marlo Topham and CSU sophomore has been chosen for a major part in Solid Gold Cadillac a two act comedy to open November 8 and 9 in the extravagant auditorium casting announced by Professor Richard M Rowley. Senator Wallace F. Bennett pressed Mexico to purchase beef cattle from drought disaster areas in the United States, urging that Utah be considered. Rowley Reunion Held Here Last Week

Parowan hosted a Rowley family reunion for William Jr and Anna Jewell Rowley on October 13 14 at the First and Second Ward churches. A Saturday luncheon followed by a business meeting elected new officers and a social in the Recreation Hall featured musical numbers and readings. Board names new manager for Southern Utah Dairy

Orland Evans, longtime butcher at Southern Utah Dairy, was named manager by the board. He will replace Arthur Joseph, a temporary appointee after Marcil Bayles was dismissed in a reorganization. Arden Dairy will take over the Para Wan firm’s grade A operation, pay off a $3,500 indebtedness, purchase equipment, and implement a 60 day customer transition with a $2.50 per quart price for remaining customers. The sale covers only Grade A milk. cheese production continues.
