Richards Discusses Amendment No 5 With Officials

Mir Lyman S Richards representing the Public Official Educational Committee met with county city and school leaders to analyze how Constitutional Amendment No 5 would affect financing of the county and schools and the taxing units. He cited statistics from the March department and noted the Nine Committee did not recommend approval and neither party endorsed it. A statement on the committee report and interpretation will be issued next week for Parawam City and Iron County.

Mary M. Marsden Honored on Birthday

Fathers and Sons Banquet Set for November 6

The Cedar Breaks District scouts announce the East end of [ron County will host the Fathers and Sons Banquet on November 6 at 7 30 PM in the Westwarg Church banquet hall. Parents are urged to buy plates at 50 cents each and invite their son or another son so all boys may attend. A program and games are planned, with ticket canvassing across three towns starting around November 1 or after deer season ends.

Siebrand Bros to Exhibit in Parowan Next Week

Pendleton Named To City Council

Pendleton was appointed to the Parowan City Council at a special meeting replacing Rey D. Garner. The unanimous vote occurred after deferral due to councilman Mitchell’s absence. The council also reviewed W P A plans to strengthen Forbay and considered removing box elder trees, with a Sunday survey to plan tree removal and replacement with native fir and spruce.

Scout Officials to Convene in Parowan on Sunday

There will be a meeting of Bay Scout district camliteeman spoop committeemen and scout musk tere of the Cedar Breaks district at the Parowan City offices in the Library building Sunday night at Tad. The meeting aims to finalize plans for the Fathers and Sons banquet on November 6. All officers are urged to attend. Bank to Declare 20 Percent Dividend in Utah

Examiner in charge of the closed Bank of Iron County will distribute 16465.20 to depositors as a 20 percent dividend. About 650 individuals will receive the payout, the bank having deposits totaling 82.4 thousand dollars. A loan from Rt. F. C. finances the dividend, with parts of another loan repaying the first. The report lauds borrower character and officers, noting rising investment values aid loan liquidation and hinting at possible full payout later.

Daughters of Pioneers Hold Fall Meeting in Utah

The Elizabeth camp of the Daughters of the Pioneers met at Mrs. Maria Taylor home for the first fall and winter session Thursday afternoon. After exercises, Mrs. Roberta Rowley delivered the lesson, Mary B. Orton sang and played guitar, and members planned winter monthly gatherings at the homes of aged and homebound members with officers announced for leaders, including Cora Mortensen as Captain and Kate Taylor as Lieutenant. Commissioners Name Judges of Election for General Election 1936
