Grass Fire at Albert Adams Causes Alarm

A grass fire at Albert Adams’s alfalfa patch spread toward H D Bayles’s yard and barn after a trash pile burned at the edge. Neighbors fought the flames before the hose cart arrived, with dry grass blamed for fueling the blaze and a warning to beware such dangers.

Local High School PTA Reorganizes and Elects Officers

The local Parent Teachers Association reorganized at a get acquainted social in the high school auditorium. New officers include President Rene Mitchell, Vice President Rose Miller, Secretary Treasurer Curham Morris, and Reporter Luella R. Adams, with Myra Dalton on the executive committee and retiring officers Barbara Adams and Pella Marsden among others. The social featured a strong program by the high school orchestra, singing, speeches by Miss Adams and Principal Hatch, a duet by Mary Orton and Myra Dalton, and a solo by Miles Petersen, followed by games and refreshments.
