Howard Chamberlain of Panguiteh bought ewes from Geo A Love for 300 dollars each and a three year old hog for 70 dollars after government officials pressured for purchases. Lowe, initially reluctant to sell, was approached by Chamberlain who persuaded him to accept the price.
