Conference Here This Week In Parowan

The Quarterly ekake conference of the L pr gs Church will be held in Parowan on Saturday and Sunday next beginning at 10 oclock Saturday morning. The conference is a priesthood convention with Saturday sessions for priesthood members and officers of various organizations. Meetings will be at the Dew West Ward chapel and recreation hall.

Church Receives New Baby Grand Piano for Ward Chapel

The West Ward chapel added a Baby Grand piano yesterday. It debuted at choir practice last night and will serve the recreation hall. the old Opera House piano remains joint ward property and will no longer be the primary instrument.

Palowan Boy to Marry in Spanish Fork

Announcement by Mrs. Dean B. Clark on returning from Bingham Canyon states her son Harry will wed Miss Dorothy Dee Anderson of Spanish Fork on Monday. Mrs. Clark and her daughter Ada will travel later this week to attend the ceremony.

Relief Society Auction Sale Set For Monday Evening

Jurors Drawn for Coming Court Term in County

Judge Burton ordered thirty five names drawn by county officials to serve as petit jurors for the November term, set to convene on the 27th. The list includes Thomas H. Rowley Clarence Penaleton George R. Gunn Kenneth Matheson and others across Cedar City Paragona and Modena with several names per locality.

Verdict Not Guilty In Intoxicant Possession Case

Ray Rowley stood trial in Justice Morris's court for possessing intoxicating liquor and was found not guilty. The city marshal had seized part of a Padre's California wine tonic used as evidence. Rowley, self represented, testified of stomach trouble and buying the tonic the night of the incident. The city offered no proof of illegal or beverage use. the jury acquitted. Deputy Sheriff Wrecks Car In Collision Near Court House

Deputy Alvin Benson of Iron County wrecked his Ford coupe last night near the Court house in a collision with John R. Reitison of Paragonah driving a Dodge Bedan. Both drivers escaped injury though both vehicles were damaged.

Dairymen Vote to Stay With Dairy Co

The Parowan and Paragonah dairymen voted to keep the Southern Utah Dairy Co. cheese factory, leaving future milk and butter sales to the company board. Jacobsen’s bid to buy milk was discussed, with talks of a possible summer arrangement to benefit dairymen.

Cold Weather Halts Work At Church Block

Robinson Feeds Lambs for Market at Valley Farm

Mr James C Robinson prominent farmer has about twelve hundred fine lambs on full feed at his valley farm. The first fattened lambs will go to market around the first of the year with others following as they are ready. His farm is well equipped for feeding and the lambs are gaining rapidly. About one thousand weather lambs and two hundred ewe lambs are included. The ewe lambs will be sold locally if possible. otherwise they will be shipped with the weather lambs. Additional ewe lambs stay on the farm and feed hay besides field gleanings. Mrs Netlie M Clark has visited sister Mrs Clara Shields, who left today for Parngultch.

Court convenes next Tuesday at Diet-Tich term

The November term of the Diet-Tich Court is set to convene here next Tuesday. A jury has been ordered for the term and a lengthy calendar awaits action. Separate articles list jurors drawn and the calendar.

Seals to Start Day After Thanksgiving Drive

On Friday morning after Thanksgiving, Iran County will mail one thousand letters each with Christmas seals. Recipients will buy and remit for them in enclosed envelopes. This replaces school sales and canvassing. Thirty percent of funds stay local. sixty percent go to state and national associations to fight the great white plague. Committee members include Ann Jirdner as chair and several local officials.

Parowan Man and Summit Woman Marry in Quiet Ceremony

A quiet marriage took place Tuesday evening at Bishop H L Adams residence with Golden Bayles of Big City and Jeanette Dalley of Summit as groom and bride. The groom is youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H C Gayles and the bride is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J P Valley. They plan to reside in the city and are joined by many friends in best wishes. Times price noted as two dollars and nine cents per year.
