Iron County commissioners met Monday to canvass November election returns and confirm County Clerk figures. They asked Union Pacific Railroad to authorize a new crossing in Karalante Valley development. Johnstone sought county insurance for road improvements between Lund and Treor. The board arranged a meeting with State Highway Patrol for 14 hour police radio service from Cedar City city hall. County property transactions and claims against the county were reviewed.

Parowan High PTA Plans House To House Membership Drive
The Parowan High School Parent Teachers Association will begin a house to house membership drive for juniors and seniors, led by Mrs. Claude Adams. Social Security Rep Visits Cedar City For Benefit Info
Mr. Sterling K. Peterson of the Provo Social Security Office will be at the Utah State Employment Service in Cedar City from 4 00 AM to 3 00 PM on Tuesday November 18 for social security business with locals. Farm and ranch workers over 65 who have at least 1 1 2 years under social security may receive benefits when their work ends. Benefits apply for any month earnings under 75, even if they plan to work later. Residents are urged to apply for retirement or survivors benefits with Mr Peterson during his visit.
