Funeral Services for Jennie Heap Winn Held in Paruwan

Funeral services were held Monday in Paruwan cemetery for Jennie Heap Winn who died near Marysvalecn. The rite was led by Go H J Mortensen with prayers by Wm H Cgrter. Elder Plex Matheeon dedicated the grave. Jennie married to Robert Winn in 1914 and leaves a husband, nine two small children, a father, two sisters and four brothers.

Myers Brothers begin 1600 foot tunnel drive in Parowan valley

The Myers Brothers secure contract for 1600 feet of tunneling on the Day Adams reservoir project in Parowan valley. They use Borlegh drills and compressors to advance the tunnel, aiming to complete in spring. Work Commences on Gap Cutting Project

Mapor Lowder and a force of ten began work on the cut in the Gap yesterday with the aim to finish by spring. The project seeks to collect fresh water from Talila Satt Lake and reservoir it at the base of the Gap for use on lands below. Previous efforts stalled due to lack of funds, but Mayor Lowder asserts completion is near and a dam wall will follow the work.

Potatoes Production Up Amid Higher Prices Statewide Report

Reports from state correspondents indicate potato production this year near 3.8 million bushels with prices around 4.96 million dollars and rises over last year. The crop, though valued higher, trails the prior year due to growers planting more wheat and fewer potatoes. The U.S. crop remains above average.
