Education Week begins Monday November 9 with a Parowan school program The Story of School to be presented by Uric and Ne Pendleton at 11 30 in the Assembly room On Wednesday November 11 a patriotic program directed by the American Legion includes speeches by Alice Topham Marguerite McBride and Ward pbb The week continues with discussions on curriculum and community services and closes with a Parent Teacher Association assembly Sunday November 16 under Mr Kimball and a Community Education for Character feature The public is urged to attend all programs especially Veterans Day observance two days after Thanksgiving

Dalton's car wreck highlighted by turnover on rural road
Deputy Sheriff Wm. Dalton's vehicle was badly damaged after a weekend turnover on the Panguitch Circleville road. Occupants Bruce Adama and Mickelon were shaken with minor injuries. The car rolled several times after hitting a soft shoulder. Dalton later sought a replacement in Salt Lake City.

Roads to Gryce Canyon Open All Winter
Winter access to Gryce Canyon National Park will be allowed for the first time. A cooperative agreement between the National Park Service and the Utah State Road Commission will keep the road from Utah Route 12 to Bryce Park open with state snow plows to Inspiration Point. Accommodations inside the park remain closed until spring, but Ruby's Tun, one mile outside, will offer winter lodging. The move aims to boost winter travel through Zion Canyon, Grand Canyon South Rim, Boulder Dam, and Las Vegas. Recreation Program Starts Next Week
The Parowan adult Recreation Program begins next week under Charles F. Dentley. The high school gym and auditorium are booked for two weekly nights, Monday and Thursday, for men and women over 13. A Sunday 7:30 p.m. meeting will form an advisory council chaired by David Richards to outline activities including basketball volleyball boxing wrestling skiing skating indoors and outdoors.
